  • Looking for a completely custom job board or White glove data migration?
    Let’s discuss it!

Expanding on some of our key features

External Feeds: Job boards use automated systems, such as XML feeds or APIs, to pull in job postings from partner sites.
Data Integration: This imported data is then integrated into the job board's own platform, making it searchable and visible to jobseekers on that site.
Content Augmentation: Backfilling allows the job board to offer a wider variety of jobs and maintain a higher volume of listings, even when direct employer postings are slow.

Obtaining the feed: The job board receives a specific web address (URL) for an XML feed from a partner, such as another job board, a job aggregator, or an employer's applicant tracking system (ATS).
Parsing the data: The job board's software accesses the XML feed and "parses" the information. XML (Extensible Markup Language) uses tags to define each data point, such as <job_title>, <location>, <description>, and <salary>, which ensures the data is both machine- and human-readable.
Mapping the fields: The software maps the XML tags from the source feed to the corresponding fields in its own database. This ensures that a job title in the feed is correctly placed in the job title field on the job board.
Automating the import: The job board sets up a schedule for the import process to run automatically (e.g., daily or hourly). This ensures that new job listings are added and expired ones are removed without manual intervention.
Adding the jobs: Once the data is imported, the new job listings are published on the job board's website for jobseekers to find. Some systems can also be set up to allow for manual review before publishing.

Generates unique links: The ATS creates a specific URL for a job posting that includes a special identifier. Employees are given this link to share on their social networks, through email, or directly with their contacts.
Tags candidate applications: When a job applicant uses a unique referral link, the software automatically marks their profile with the name of the referring employee and the source. This ensures the referrer gets credit if the candidate is hired.
Automates reporting: The system automates the process of generating reports on referral metrics, including:
The number of referred candidates
The number of referred candidates hired
The status of referred candidates in the hiring pipeline
Provides transparency: Referral tracking portals can give employees visibility into the progress of their referrals. This helps them stay engaged in the program and fosters trust.
Distributes rewards: For incentive-based programs, the tracking system helps ensure that employees who refer a candidate get the appropriate reward in a timely manner.

Generation: An employer's website or ATS creates a dynamic XML file containing all job listing data, such as job title, description, location, and salary. This file is organized using consistent XML tags, making it easy for other systems to read.
Transmission: The job board receives a static URL for the XML feed. It then accesses this URL to download and import the job data on a scheduled basis, such as daily or hourly.
Mapping and Display: The job board's system maps the fields from the incoming XML feed to its own database. It then displays the jobs on its website for candidates to view.
Automatic Updates: The process is automated. As jobs are added, edited, or removed from the source system, the XML feed is updated. The job board automatically imports these changes during its next refresh cycle, keeping all listings current without manual effort.

Equesting data: A third-party application, such as a recruitment platform or an aggregator site, sends a request to the job board's API. The request specifies the data needed, such as jobs matching certain criteria like keywords or location.
Authentication: To ensure secure access, the application must provide an API key or token, which acts as a unique identifier and grants permission to access the data.
Returning data: The job board's API retrieves the requested information from its database and sends it back to the requesting application in a standardized format, such as JSON or XML.

Dual domain support for job boards refers to the ability of a job board platform to manage and operate across two separate, distinct internet domains. For businesses, this feature allows them to support different brands, divisions, or locations under a single, centralized system.

Hierarchical Structure: A master account oversees several sub-accounts.
Distinct Identifiers: Each sub-account is unique and typically requires a separate ID and password.
Resource Management: The master account controls the number of jobs, emails, and other services available to each sub-account.
Purpose: To support large organizations with multiple internal departments or those who operate separate brands or companies under one umbrella.
Administrator Oversight: A single administrator manages the entire group of sub-accounts from the master account.

Structured data: The job board's web pages must include JobPosting structured data. This is a standardized code that helps Google's systems accurately understand the details of each job listing, such as the title, location, and company.
API request: When a change occurs (a new job is posted, an old one is updated, or an expired one is removed), the job board sends an HTTP POST request to Google's Indexing API.
Prompt re-crawl: Upon receiving the request, Google schedules the specified URL for a fresh crawl, ensuring the content is rapidly updated in search results.

Talent pool: A talent pool is a curated database of pre-vetted candidates who are potential fits for current or future roles. Instead of starting from scratch for every new job opening, recruiters can draw from this pool of talent. Boolean search: This is a technique for creating highly specific and targeted searches using logical operators. It allows recruiters to efficiently find candidates with the exact skills, experience, and qualifications required. For recruiting on job boards like Indeed or Monster

Tailored data synchronization: Organizations can define exactly which data fields are synced between systems. For example, they can specify how applicant information is parsed and stored in their ATS when a candidate applies from a job board.
Custom workflows: Integrations can automate specific hiring processes. A custom workflow might be designed to automatically generate documents based on a candidate's status in the hiring pipeline or to trigger updates to a CRM.
Specialized feature development: A custom-developed job board offers complete control over features and functionality. This allows a company to implement unique, industry-specific features that are not available in a standard, ready-made solution.
Advanced brand control: Organizations can have full control over the look, feel, and features of their own branded career pages. This is crucial for creating a seamless candidate experience that reinforces the company brand.
Seamless integration with existing systems: A custom integration ensures that a new job board platform works smoothly with a company's existing IT infrastructure, including HR systems, databases, and authentication schemes like Single Sign-On (SSO).
Refined data management and reporting: By controlling how data is tagged and categorized, a company can improve its reporting capabilities. For example, it can configure custom source tags to more accurately track where applicants are coming from.
